Foster Update 02/27/24:
Connie has been with me for 3 days and she is the sweetest little girl that loves to cuddle and be with her people. We have discovered her love of toys and that she is an amazing fetcher! She instinctually brings it right back. She has zero fear of the water and went right in to fetch her toy. In three days she has learned sit, down and getting better and better with the stay command. So far her recall has been very good. no issues on leash, mild pulling but overall very good. She loves car and buggy rides and likes to sit in the front seat and watch the world go by. She is such a smart and curious girl! She is food motivated which makes training her very easy. I have three dogs and she is great with them! She respects the hierarchy of the pack. We have started socializing her in public places and she did great at a friends BBQ. No issues with the other dogs and kept close to us and curled up and fell asleep in front of the fire. Whoever becomes the fortunate parents of Connie are going to have an AMAZING dog!
Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to insure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and desexed. Cortez dogs are not microchipped.
