I'm ready for my new family!

Meet our sweet pup Miela. Miela is very confident and yet is very kind and gentle. She walks well on a leash with minimal guidance, knows to go outside to potty and has never had an accident indoors. Miela is quickly learning basic commands in both English and Spanish. She is working on her off, stay & has mastered sit and down. Although she is food motivated, she does respond to commands without a treat present. Miela sleeps inside the house thru the night. She loves morning outside play and/or a short walk. Miela loves to be loved, get pets/snuggles and is getting used to riding in the car. Easily gets in and out on her own now:) Is pretty quiet, other than alert barks when outside and notices the occasional cow passing by our place. She likes to play with toys solo. Miela likes a short game of fetch in the morning and the evening with a ball. And she loves to pass quiet time with her busy chew bones and hooves. Miela does like to bury them sometimes. Good news! She remembers where she put them. Lol!

History: Miela followed my husband home from the beach and seemed to be weary. We gave her water and she laid down to take a long nap. We noticed that she had an injury from a bite on her right front elbow and we took her to have Veterinary attention. We then realized that she was probably a wanderer because she was forging for plant foods and bugs to eat. Vet assessment was that she was about 6months at that time. We contacted Cortez Rescue to register her and we have been fostering her for the last month and a half.

Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. All dogs are micro-chipped before leaving Mexico.
