Her love for running and fetching makes her a natural fit for an outdoorsy person who enjoys staying on the move. She enjoys playtime with select other dogs (proper introductions a must) but she does not like cats.

Canela is polishing her manners at the local dog school and making steady progress. She is very eager to learn. Her sharp mind and attentive nature mean she's always up for the next challenge. Canela isn’t just about play—she’s also a sweetheart who adores affection. Butt scratches? Yes, please. Quiet moments together? Even better. Canela is happiest when she’s with her person. Canela  likes to play with select other dogs (prefers submissive males), she is most definitely not a fan of cats. Canela would do best in an active home allowing her to run and play.

History: Sadly this beautiful girl was used as a guard dog and spent 2 years on a short chain with no attention.

Health: 03/22/24 Canela had surgery to remove the plate in her leg (from an old fracture) as it was causing some pain. She has a slight limp but it does not slow her down one bit.

Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. All dogs are micro-chipped before leaving Mexico.
