🐾 Meet Indy – Gorgeous, Well-Mannered, and Ready for Home 🐾
Indy is a beautiful young Baja rescue pup who is truly coming into her own. Now that she’s fully healed from her past injury, she’s thriving in foster care — confident, affectionate, and showing everyone what a special dog she is.
Indy is wonderful in the home and has the kind of calm, steady temperament that makes her easy to live with. She’s sweet with her people, enjoys attention, and settles nicely when it’s time to relax.
One of the best updates? Indy is doing great with her foster’s cat, showing she can be respectful and gentle with proper introductions.
What Indy Needs:
-
A loving foster or adopter ready for a great dog
-
A home that appreciates a well-mannered, affectionate companion
-
Continued structure and love so she can keep building confidence
Indy is ready now — and she’s the kind of dog who will make you wonder how you ever lived without her. 💛
Foster Home Update 2/2026 -
We've been fostering this sweet and smart dog for 3 weeks and during this time her progress has been outstanding. She is a love bug! Indy is one of those dogs who loves to cuddle up with her human companions. She's awesome on leash and rarely pulls. She is much more confident on our 2-3 daily walks. She has mastered stairs and is no longer afraid to get out of the truck .
She is not a barker or digger. She does love to swipe a sock or shoe and carry it around- she's quite proud of this. She especially loves her chew bone after breakfast :)
She is mastering the commands "down" and "come". "Sit" is a breeze!
We are working on "leave it" and "drop" :)
Overall this dog is a WINNER!
She is great with our cat - Indy wants to play with her but the cat has not quite decided that's the route she wants to go.
Indy would be a great family dog. She does not require much.
She does not need an hour-long walk each morning and afternoon although she could do it. And she is not a dog that requires a ball be thrown for hours on end. She's got spunk and energy but calms down quickly. She loves being with her human companions and if you want a dog who loves snuggling and being right next to you, Indy is your gal! She is sooooo sweet.
Because of her hip injury as a pup - we take her on a few short walks a day and help her up into our truck. She can run like the wind - I swear she's part greyhound but we try to limit that in the hopes her hip muscles and ligaments will get stronger as she gets more consistent exercise.
