Short Term Foster Needed! Jacob is recovering well from his injuries, and he has found a home in Portland! An amazing family is waiting for Jacob but we need a short-term foster for a few weeks while we get Jacob neutered and vaccinated. Jacob is not happy in his kennel at Cortez Rescue because he is still healing from his dog. So after getting fixed he will be set and ready to go to a short term foster. We only need you for two or three weeks. MAX!!!!!
Jacob was found on a dirt road. He is an overall great dog. He is a gentle dog with soulful eyes, who is dainty but with some puppy energy. He has the happiest tail and the biggest grin. At this point he is not leash trained but after just 2 sessions, he did very well. He walks off leash by your side. He is food motivated. He eats rapidly and is fearful food will disappear, but he shows no resource guarding with people. Jacob was tested over the weekend with another dog, and he did an excellent job being the “Good Buddy”. He does quiver at loud barking. Jacob listens well, can sit, has fair recall and we suspect with training, he will come on command. He loves to ride in cars, to boot scoot and do zoomies. He is a very smart and empathetic dog who loves people. Jacob could be a good candidate for an emotional support/therapy dog.
Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to insure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and desexed.
