Monte’s life hasn’t been easy. This resilient, loving boy has already overcome the unthinkable — surviving two surgeries after being stomped by a cow. Now healed and strong, Monte is ready to live for something far better than just survival: love.

Despite his rough start, Monte is a gentle, affectionate soul who adores people and thrives on companionship. Loyal and loving, he’s the kind of dog who will watch over his family with quiet devotion, happy to be close and soak up every moment of kindness.

Monte deserves a safe, loving home where he’ll never have to face danger again. 

✨ While Monte and Mara would love to find a forever home together — as they’ve survived every hardship side by side — they can also be adopted separately if it means finally getting the chance to know comfort, safety, and love. Both are currently in Baja Sur, and transport can be arranged.

Before leaving Cortez Rescue: All dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. All dogs are micro-chipped before leaving Mexico.
