Meet Queenie – Ready for Stability, Ready for Home
Queenie was found abandoned with her sibling Quentin — scared, hungry, and unsure. Since then, she’s done exactly what you hope a rescue dog will do: she’s stepped up. Queenie went straight into foster care, where she’s learned house routines, is potty trained, and is picking up her basic commands quickly.
She’s a thoughtful, sweet girl. A bit shy at first, but once she feels safe, she relaxes into an affectionate, playful companion. She enjoys walks, time outdoors, and being close to her people. Queenie is smart, gentle, and eager to please — the kind of dog who bonds deeply once she knows she belongs.
Queenie is ready now and truly needs a permanent home so she doesn’t lose the progress she’s made in foster care.
What Queenie Needs:
Queenie has already survived being abandoned. She shouldn’t have to wait any longer to feel secure again.
History: Queenie was found abandoned with her sibling Quentin in nearby town.
Foster Notes: For clarification their foster parent had named them after they were named at the rescue. Keeping things easy for the rescue is important so when reading below - Canella is Queenie and Cona is Quentin.
Canella (Queenie) is a sweet, smart, and loving 9-month-old girl. She can be a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she’s incredibly affectionate. She loves beach walks, playing in the water, and is learning quickly with her training.
Cona (Quentin) is her playful brother, full of energy and always ready for fun. He adores the beach just as much as his sister and is also picking up training very quickly. He’s already showing great manners and sits patiently before meals.
They’d love to find a forever home together, but they can also thrive in separate loving homes. Both are friendly, smart, and ready to bring so much joy to their new families.
Before leaving Cortez Rescue: All dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. All dogs are micro-chipped before leaving Mexico.
