11/18/24 Foster Update: Meet Raptor, aka Velcro, a pup with a heart of gold! He's eager to find someone to share a beautiful bond with. During my week-long fostering, he quickly attached himself to me, seeking constant companionship. He's a snuggle bug, sleep enthusiast, and hangout expert, but unleashes his energy on beach walks and hikes. Non-food driven, an actual self-feeder, with no begging or aggression. Housebroken, crate-trained, and respectful of your home and space. Enjoys car rides standing up, but eats lying down! 😂 While at dinner at a local eatery, he cherished quality time, seeking lap snuggles. His perfect match will receive unconditional love. Let's find this soulful boy a gentle, loving home; he deserves it! 💙
2nd Foster Update: Raptor is a sweet, calm soulful dog. He’s mellow and does not bark. He is a love and likes to be near you and loves to go where you go. Every day his personality emerges more and more, he gets a little more spring in his step, and he is learning how to play and enjoy life. Raptor loves the beach and is getting more comfortable with meeting dogs his size or bigger off leash, easy with smaller dogs. He has taken to swimming in just a few days of trying it out.
I can’t say enough great things about this soulful pup. He’s a great size at only 42lbs. He is house trained, walks great on a leash, great in the car & ATV. He sleeps all night, free feeds and knows basic commands.
He’s currently finishing his tick fever meds, but is available for foster to adopt locally in the Los Barriles area until he is cleared by our vet.
Or apply for him now and we can fly him to you just as soon as he is ready
Foster Update: Raptor is a sweet, quiet and loving boy. He’s a sensitive soul with eyes that will melt you. He’s most interested in humans but does get along with other dogs if properly introduced, and they give him space. If he doesn’t feel comfortable, he will walk away. He is very smart and agile. Raptor can be fearful of dogs bigger than him. He’s not sure yet what to make of toys or how to play so he observes but doesn’t join in. He’s great on leash, in the car and out & about. He’s currently in foster with 10 other pups of all sizes, ages and temperaments. He prefers his foster moms to them all. Doesn’t seem to have a prey drive.
Raptor does best outside or kenneled when he is left home alone, so would do best in a home with a secure yard.
Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and desexed. All dogs are microchipped before leaving Mexico.
