Foster Update: Tobie is doing great! She is a very loyal and kind dog. She is super mellow, and likes to hang out in whatever room I am in. One of the cutest things she does is raise her paw/arm to you as if she wants to shake, without even being asked. Or, when she is laying on her bed, she starts wagging her tail whenever she hears my voice, or sees me. I’ll hear THUMP, THUMP, THUMP. She has been fine meeting other dogs, a little timid, but after a couple of days she warmed up to the others and actually wanted to be near them. (I stayed at a friend’s house for a week, and she had 2 dogs.) She is very timid meeting new people, especially men. She will stay on her bed when strangers come into the house. No barking or growling at all. Definitely not a watch dog!!
Tobie was surrendered to Cortez with a broken front leg. She had surgery to repair her leg on August 23rd. She was cleared by the Vet to take her out for short, slow walks to begin her recovery. Tobie still has a significant limp, so her foster doesn’t take her on very long walks at this time. Update: Tobie is looking for a home with an older person, or someone who works from home and is too busy to have a young energetic dog. She walks fine on a leash, and is totally potty trained.
Before leaving Cortez Rescue, Tobie will be given a full medical assessment to insure she remains in optimum health. She currently lives in Baja near Cabo San Lucas.
Temperament: Calm and sweet. Resource Guarding/Prey Drive: Has not exhibited any. Separation Anxiety: She will howl and cry when her person leaves but doesn’t keep it up.
