Foster Update: Lupita is an easy adult, if you just watch her body language and eyes... she speaks loud and clear
Lupita was rescued from life on a chain with no real human or animal contact. She was extremely thin and scared of everthing. Since being at the Rescue she has gained weight and is looking beautiful and Regal. Best guess is she is a Whippet or Greyhound mix. She is learning how to socialize with other dogs and has a few friends now that can run and play with. Her eyes tell you when she needs space. She will avoid eye contact and turn away, which may be followed by a snarl and even a nip if not left. Lupita will let the other dogs know if she's not liking what's going on.
She has a soft heart and wants to please.
Verbal correction works good with her. This girl has had such a crappy start to life it's no wonder she's so scared of all other living creatures trying to come into her space. Building her confidence will make all the difference. Her favorite thing in the world is to get out for walks or hikes, she will just light up and prance for you.
Lupita is a sweet heart, likes pets, going for walks and doing zoomies but is just a happy being a couch potato when you feel like having a lazy day.
Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to insure optimum health, current vaccinations, and desexed
