Jake was dumped and left to fend for himself. Being only 5 lbs Jake had to work hard to protect himself on the streets. He was attacked many times but nothing life threatening thank goodness.
08/25/23 From his foster mom:
Jake is a ball of joy to have around. Very unsure at first, especially with the other dogs but after a week or so he's worked his way in to the pack. Jake loves to be in your lap, held and petted. I think it's because it makes him feel safe. He'll fall asleep on your chest. He follows me everywhere and just wants to be by my side. He super excited for his meals and will show it by dancing on his hind legs. He loves all people. Is good in the car. He's learning to play with toys and the other dogs. Because of his fears from trying to always protect him self Jake can be very vocal with other dogs. Meaning he growls and snarls while trying to engage in play. Most dogs make nothing of it and Jake usually stops with a firm No from me. This behavior will go away once he's bonded with his new family. If your looking for that special little pal, this boy is wonderful!
