Nero is growing up at the rescue… and that’s the part that’s hard to say out loud.
This handsome dark brown brindle boy is nearing a year old in May, and he’s spent far too much of his young life waiting to be chosen. Watching a pup like Nero grow up behind kennel gates — when he should be discovering the world with his person — is something we’re ready to change.
And trust us… he’s worth it.
Nero has a fabulous personality and a very unique, dark brindle coloring. Playful and curious, yes… but also incredibly sweet, gentle, and tuned in. He’s got that easygoing charm that makes him a joy to be around. One minute he’s happily bouncing around with his dog friends, the next he’s leaning in for affection like he’s known you forever.
He’s not just a cute puppy anymore — he’s becoming a really great dog.
The kind who will:
- Be your steady companion
- Make you laugh with his playful side
- Settle in close when the day winds down
- Grow into exactly what you didn’t know you were missing
But he needs the chance to do that in a home.
What Nero Needs:
- A loving adopter ready to bring him into real life
- Continued guidance as he finishes growing up
- Playtime, connection, and daily routine
- A family who sees his potential and says “that’s our dog”
- Nero is good with our resident cats and may be good with your calm cat with proper introductions.
Nero has done the waiting.
He’s done the growing up in a place that was never meant to be permanent.
Now he needs someone to step in and change his story.
He’s ready. He’s more than ready.
He just needs to be chosen.
