Artie was found with his 8 siblings in a ravine covered in trash. Their mom Annie had dug a hole and to give gave birth to her pups. She and 4 of her pups were brought to the rescue, but the staff noted that mama was very anxious. The rescuers went back to the ravine and found there were 4 additional puppies. They were able to rescue all of them and brought them to the rescue. After reuniting the pups with Annie, she became more relaxed.

Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. All dogs are micro-chipped before leaving Mexico.
