Hello My name is Bruce AKA Zeus! I am adorable but I've been waiting for over 3 years for my furever family. I'm in foster in Portland, OR.

Foster Update 09/27/24:

This 6ish-year-old, 79lb Pitty-Pointer-Lab (he’s a leaner) is a good boy who is ADORABLE. What is so endearing about Bruce is how he cocks his head when you talk to him, his expressive looks and how much he loves to cuddle. He is one big LOVE BUG. He is potty trained, crate trained, and good on leash (if he knows you’re the boss), not a barker but will alert you if someone is at the door or he hears an unrecognizable sound.

Bruce came to us as a foster in 2022. Unfortunately, it was just before people who got pets during COVID were returning them to shelters. We have been fostering dogs since 2019 and get joy out of fostering and finding good, loving homes for these dogs, but we can’t foster as long as we have Bruce. If you are a confident handler looking for a dog who is smart, affectionate, playful, compassionate, and easily trained (with treats or praise), Bruce is the one! Bruce would love a home with active people and a good-size, fenced-in yard (for his zoomies). He needs to be the only pet in the home. He is not good around small children as he might be too playful. Bruce gets along with other dogs, but they need to be properly introduced. He also gets along with livestock, including chickens.

Before leaving Cortez Rescue, Bruce was given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health.  He is current on vaccinations and neutered. He is not microchipped.
