I'm ready for my new family!

Canela is in dog school and will be available soon 

Canela is beautiful, active, alert, and intelligent.This red beauty absolutely loves to run and fetch balls. She is working on her leash skills, steadily demonstrating improvement. Canela is really a sweet girl and enjoys affection, especially butt scratches. She is also happy just chilling out with you. She would make a great outdoor companion. Canela has made great progress at the rescue however we feel like Canela would really excel if she attended Dog School for a month or two. Canela  likes to play with select other dogs (prefers submissive males), he is most definitely not a fan of cats. Canela would do best in an active home allowing her to run and play.

History: Sadly this beautiful girl was used as a guard dog and spent 2 years on a short chain with no attention.

Health: 03/22/24 Canela had surgery to remove the plate in her leg (from an old fracture) as it was causing some pain. She has a slight limp but it does not slow her down one bit.

Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. All dogs are micro-chipped before leaving Mexico.
