I'm in foster in Vancouver, BC

Hello there! I'm Cyrus, a brave and resilient pup with a heart full of hope and a tail that wags with gratitude. My sister and I had a rough start in life when we were heartlessly dumped out of the back of our owner's truck on the side of the highway. But thanks to the compassion of kind-hearted neighbors, our story took a turn for the better.

Life hasn't always been easy, but I've learned to appreciate the goodness in people and the joy in simple pleasures. Despite the challenges, I am a bundle of energy and love, always ready to explore the world with my wagging tail and curious nose. My spirit is unbreakable, and I believe in the power of love to heal even the deepest wounds.

I am currently in foster care, where I am surrounded by love, care, and the warmth of a family that treats me like one of their own. My sister and I are looking for our forever homes, places where we can share our boundless affection, bring endless joy, and receive all the love and attention we deserve.

I am a loyal companion, a playful adventurer, and a cuddly friend, all wrapped up in a furry coat. I dream of a home where I can snuggle on the couch, play fetch in the backyard, and embark on exciting walks with my new family. If you're looking for a furry best friend who will fill your life with love, laughter, and endless tail wags, look no further. I'm Cyrus, and I can't wait to find my forever home and shower my new family with all the love I have to offer. Are you ready to open your heart and home to a sweet, resilient pup like me? If so, I'm here, waiting for you with open paws and a heart full of hope. Let's embark on this beautiful journey together

Foster Update 15/11/23:

Cyrus is such a sweet dog. He loves car rides and tries to jump in my car every time I open the door, even when I'm just trying to grab something. He is very good with my 2yr old dog Max (a large pit bull), and has been good with other dogs we encounter on walks. He gets pretty excited (but not aggressive) when other dogs are barking at us as we walk by so I would recommend he stays on a leash at least until his recall skills improve. He is easy to handle and doesn't pull on the leash and he is not reactive to most things. He startled me on our walk when he started barking at cows but that has only happened once, and since then he hasn't barked at the cows again. He also seems more curious/skeptical of cushy areas that are hard to see through. He is still very much a puppy. He gets super excited to go on walks and jumps up and down or runs in circles while I'm getting the leash and he playfully chews on my wrist as I put the leash on him. He'll even grab the leash from my and had and walk himself to the gate! For most of the day he enjoys a cool spot in the shade, but when it cools off he and Max run around and around our big yard. He has chewed up a few of my daughters toys, we gave him some bones to work on and that has saved the toys. I have noticed he only chews on things at night. Possibly a residual effect from scavenging at nights as he was a street dog. I've heard he enjoys the beach though we haven't had the pleasure of taking him there ourselves. He know his name, plays well, knows a few basic commands and would make a wonderful companion!

Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to insure optimum health, current vaccinations, and desexed.
