Hello! My name is Dyer! I'm currently in Foster in BC, Canada!

Meet Dyer, a resilient and charming male mix breed puppy with a heartwarming story. This little guy was discovered alongside his litter mates, abandoned in El Cardonal, Mexico. Despite his rough start, Dyer has shown incredible spirit and a zest for life. He's looking for a loving forever home that can provide the care, warmth, and companionship he deserves. Dyer is a true survivor, ready to fill your home with joy and unconditional love. Are you the one who can give Dyer the second chance he's been patiently waiting for? Adopt Dyer and be a part of his happily ever after!

01/14/24 Foster Update: Dyer is fitting in wonderfully! He was amazing at the airport pick up with all the noise and distractions and great in the car on the drive home. Introductions with my other dog, kitten and cat went very well! Seems unfazed by the cats, curious to go and give a sniff but the cats seem more interested in him than he is in them. He is very laid back and great with my three year old daughter! Anyone would be lucky to adopt this sweet boy!!

Foster Update 02/05/24:

Dyer joined our family three weeks ago, and each day has been an incredible adventure. Despite having no prior experience with cats or kids, Dyer has proven to be amazing. He gets along wonderfully with both our cat, kitten, and 3-year-old daughter.

Dyer is currently in the process of learning basic commands like sit, stay, and leave it. He's also making strides in walking well on a leash, although he still finds the leash a bit tempting if you pause for too long.

While generally quiet, Dyer may bark when our doodle starts barking, but he responds well to correction. He is highly food motivated and occasionally distracted by food, so we're actively working on commands like "leave it" and discouraging counter surfing.

As a typical puppy, Dyer is still learning boundaries, but he is on the path to becoming a loving, loyal, adventurous, rambunctious, and cuddly companion. Any family would be fortunate to have him as part of their home.

Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to insure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and desexed.
