Harper is a gorgeous pup. She is super smart and very trainable. She sits on command most of the time and is already learning "stay" :) She is quiet in her crate (and in the yard.) Harper has a great personality and really wants to please. She is fluffy, friendly, and full of love and would make a wonderful family dog.
Foster Update: Harper has been with us for 6 days, but she is settling in well and she is fun to have around! She is playful, listens well, and learns very quickly. She is crate trained and is quiet as a church mouse when in her crate. Does not whine or bark while in our yard or when she hears other dogs barking.
She was tentative with my husband at first but within a day she was bonding with him and now she's happy to sit on his lap. She is a little anxious with visitors. We started introducing other people on day 4. Harper was great with our female friend but was out of sorts with our male visitor. She barked, growled, and clearly was nervous. Even after putting her in her crate, she continued to bark for a minute or two while our guest was in the house.
Harper is a good mix of energy with the ability to calm/settle down rather quickly. She'll test boundaries but once she knows she can't "do whatever it was she wanted to do" she settles down. She is already doing well with the "sit" and "stay" commands, lets me take her food away and return it, and will give up her stick or ball without much of a fuss. We took her on her first long hike, and she did really well. She loves to fetch a ball and is just happy to be with us. She LOVES having her belly rubbed, chewing on her goat hoof, carrying sticks around and going for walks.
Harper is doing well on the leash. She can be a bit silly for a few seconds when the leash is first put on her but falls right into line without much prodding. She's not really a puller and is learning to "heel."
History: Harper and her sister Haven were surrendered by a man who couldn't take care of them. They were a litter of 7, but her 5 siblings died from Parvo.
