Meet Mayah 💛 – An Easy-to-Love Girl Who’s Ready for Home
Mayah is the kind of dog who quietly becomes your favorite. She’s calm, affectionate, and deeply connected to her people. In her foster home, she’s proven to be an absolute joy — well-mannered, relaxed, and truly easy to live with.
She loves closeness. Mayah is a snuggler, a leaner, and a full-on hugger who will happily settle in beside you and stay there. She’s fully house trained, knows her basic commands, and carries herself with a calm, respectful presence in the home. She’s not a dog you have to manage — she’s one you simply get to enjoy.
Mayah gets along well with other dogs and enjoys her walks, beach time, and quiet moments with her people. She has recently been re-tested with cats and showed minimal interest. With proper, thoughtful introductions, she may do well in a home with a calm, dog-savvy cat.
She does have some prey drive, so a secure, fenced yard is still important to keep her safe and set her up for success.
What Mayah Needs:
Mayah doesn’t need fixing — she’s already an incredible dog.
She just needs a home where she can belong and be loved the way she deserves.
History: It is rare but does happen. Our sweet Mayah was originally a Cortez Rescue pup and sadly, through absolutely no fault of her own, was an owner surrender. She now has been gifted a second chance to find her loving, forever family.
Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. All dogs are micro-chipped before leaving Mexico.
