This is Xavier, our very sweet rescue boy. Xavier is charming and well behaved with an easy going personality. He is playful, loves to play with his stuffies and is just a big, happy dog. Xavier is fully house trained and knows how to use a doggy door. Xavier would be fine in a home with a similar-sized and aged dog that wants to play or just being the only dog. He is very good at entertaining himself and he will go anywhere with you. A large, fenced yard would be best for this awesome boy. He would also be a great outdoor companion for hiking or other outdoor adventures.
Xavier is currently being fostered and totally ready for his forever home!
Foster Updates -
08/10/24 Foster update: Xavier, aka Javie, is such a charming, sweet, loyal, well behaved and fun boy (joyfully carrying around a stuffed toy in his mouth everywhere he goes). He’s doing very well in a pack of 7, minding his manners.
10/17/23 Foster update: Xavier continues to prove himself to be an excellent boy. House trained, knows how to use the dog door. Loves his bed and toys. He would prefer to have all your attention but is happy to play or lay in his bed. Pretty good with other dogs although he doesn't really play with them. Xavier would be fine in a home with a similar-sized and aged dog that wants to play or just being the only dog. He’ll go anywhere with you.
5/23 Update: Xavier wasn't doing well at the rescue. When he got into foster, he had 3 days to decompress and then was introduced to a pack of 5. He gets along great with all of them! Xavier likes toys of any sort and will happily play by himself. He likes to play fetch too. He is great on a leash. Xavier is well behaved, loves his pets, is quite chill and rarely barks. He would be happy to go anywhere with you. He is an excellent dog!
Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. All dogs are micro-chipped before leaving Mexico.
