🐾 Meet Xavier – A Gentle Soul with a Playful Heart 🐾

Say hello to Xavier, our charming 7-year-old rescue boy who’s equal parts laid-back buddy and super fun playmate. With his easygoing personality and sweet nature, Xavier brings calm, happiness, and fun to every moment.

This big, happy guy is house-trained, knows how to use a doggy door, and is just as content tossing his stuffies around as he is lounging by your side. He’s wonderfully self-entertaining but always ready to join in on the action—especially if it involves heading outdoors.

Xavier would thrive in a home with a similar-sized, like-minded dog to romp and relax with, or he’d be perfectly content as your one-and-only companion. A large, fenced yard would be ideal for his playful energy, and he’d make a fantastic partner for hikes, strolls, or just enjoying the fresh air.

Xavier is the best of both worlds—mature, mellow, and still full of life. Come meet the dog who’s ready to be your loyal adventure buddy and best friend 💛

Xavier is currently being fostered and totally ready for his forever home!

Foster Updates -

08/10/24 Foster update: Xavier, aka Javie, is such a charming, sweet, loyal, well behaved and fun boy (joyfully carrying around a stuffed toy in his mouth everywhere he goes). He’s doing very well in a pack of 7, minding his manners.

10/17/23 Foster update: Xavier continues to prove himself to be an excellent boy. House trained, knows how to use the dog door. Loves his bed and toys. He would prefer to have all your attention but is happy to play or lay in his bed. Pretty good with other dogs although he doesn't really play with them. Xavier would be fine in a home with a similar-sized and aged dog that wants to play or just being the only dog. He’ll go anywhere with you.

5/23 Update: Xavier wasn't doing well at the rescue. When he got into foster, he had 3 days to decompress and then was introduced to a pack of 5. He gets along great with all of them! Xavier likes toys of any sort and will happily play by himself. He likes to play fetch too. He is great on a leash. Xavier is well behaved, loves his pets, is quite chill and rarely barks. He would be happy to go anywhere with you. He is an excellent dog!

Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to ensure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and spayed/neutered. All dogs are micro-chipped before leaving Mexico.
